Fifteen years in, and somehow the Tucson Gem Show still manages to feel like equal parts pilgrimage and treasure hunt. The days are long - really long - filled with miles of walking, endless squatting, bending, digging, and the kind of physical exhaustion you only notice once you finally sit down. Feet sore, back sore, dust everywhere. And yet… it never disappoints.
There’s something about being on the ground in Tucson that resets the creative compass. Booth after booth, table after table - each one holding a story, a surprise, a spark. Stones you’ve never seen before. Colors that stop you mid-stride. The joy of the "hunt" that commands your attention and then refuses to leave your mind. It’s overwhelming in the best way, and deeply inspiring every single time.
After 15 years of coming to the shows, I’ve learned to trust the process - and my instincts. The digging, the conversations, the careful sorting through what looks ordinary until it suddenly isn’t.
This year was no exception. We sourced some truly beautiful treasures, the kind that remind me why I keep coming back.
