I've had the honor of traveling to the US - Mexico border with This Is About Humanity a few times, a community dedicated to raising awareness about separated and reunited families and children. We feel a moral obligation to stand in solidarity with those who come to our country in search of asylum.

One way you can support the causes that matter to you is to be a conscious consumer. For every purchase of this necklace, we will happily donate 100% of the net proceeds to the This is About Humanity Fund which works closely to meet the needs of immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers who are affected by violence and instability in their home countries. The organization advocates for their human rights and safety while supporting housing, medical care, legal counsel, and on-the-ground relief efforts.

Notes About This Item

The mission of This Is About Humanity is to provide humanitarian support to families on both sides of the border. We are a community dedicated to raising awareness about separated and reunified families and children at the border. We help educate others on being allies and advocates and through our trips to the border and through our This is About Humanity fiscal sponsorship fund at the International Community Foundation we will help support those individuals with essentials and necessities of living; with access to legal services, mental wellness checkups; as well as fund projects at shelters. We also provide for a range of projects including educational bus trips to the border, donations to legal services, construction projects at shelters as well as material goods for unaccompanied minors.

Our fundraising efforts include hosting dinners for Immigrant Defenders Law Center, Border Angels, Casa Cornelia, and in the fall, Casa YMCA; directing resources to help with construction projects including bathrooms for Caritas, a family shelter; housing for vulnerable communities including LGBTQ; bunk beds for unaccompanied minors; partnering with organizations such as The Little Market, Fwd.US, Goop, Moms Who Care, Ariel Gordon and Clare Vivier amongst others to host awareness-raising conversations and salons, or assist with immediate living essentials such as food and other living essentials.

We make all of our pieces by hand in our studio in Los Angeles and do our best to turn orders around as quickly as possible. Due to Covid-19 we are experiencing delays and appreciate your patience as we navigate this new normal. As such, all items in the IN STOCK collection will ship within a few days. All other styles will be added to our production queue and will ship in 5 - 7 weeks.
All international orders are subject to import taxes, customs duties and brokerage fees levied by the destination country and the recipient is responsible for paying these fees. All international orders are final sale.
